Today I have three words that I want you to remember and repeat after me. “I Choose Joy.”
#1 We should aspire to find joy daily.
– Why? Because the Joy of the Lord is our strength, and we have to remind ourselves “DAILY” that no matter what obstacles, trials, or tribulations we are faced with, we must choose to keep our eyes fixed on God.
#2 What is Joy?
– Joy is a decision.
– Joy is a Sacrifice.
– Joy goes much deeper than just having a Happy Day.
– Joy is rooted in our faith, hope, and trust in God.
#3 Protect your Joy.
– We were reminded by Sen. Corey Booker a couple of weeks back during the Senate confirmation hearings that he would not allow any person or negative words to STEAL his JOY. Protect your JOY by any means necessary.
Gracious God our Father. Thank you for this day. I pray that you will purify our hearts and mind with your goodness and let us not feel overwhelmed by the circumstances surrounding us. I am specifically praying for my MPC family. Asking you, Oh God, that you will allow us to:
Choose Joy in our pain
Choose Joy in our sorrow
Choose Joy in our valley and
Choose Joy as a sacrifice of Praise
In Jesus’s name, Amen
