Day 20 | Let Go

Submitted By, Deacon Beatrice Goodman

During Lent as we say “No”, it is imperative that we “Let Go.”

The one and only way to let go is for us to consider what lies ahead. It’s a double-minded person that looks forward and backward at the same time. Like Paul, As Christians we are called to forget anything and everything that impedes forward progress. It doesn’t mean we can erase it from our memories, no we can’t do that but that’s all right. This is how we learn from the mistakes we make; mistakes are great teachers, yet Paul is telling us to stop thinking about and move on. Stop focusing on the past because that experience your stuck on was not meant to trip you up. That experience was meant to teach you something valuable that you hadn’t already known and make you into an even stronger individual. Press forward, not backward. Press ahead towards the goals before you, not behind you.

Remember the prize is closer today, so let go of yesterday.

Lenten Prayer

Gracious and Loving Father continue to help us let go and let You have it Lord. Lord we can’t do anything without You. Help us to trust in Your abilities to cover us in all things. Let us not focus on the past which was meant to teach us valuable lessons and continue to press forward in your plans, In Jesus Name we pray, Amen
